Details for those who are interested :
In Slavic legends Mavka ( or Navka, sometimes also called Rusalka) is a creature which dwells near water. Mavkas are something like ghosts of women who suffered a violent death through drowning and haunt the places where they died. They are usually depicted as young women with long hair wearing a white linen chemise or in later versions a bridal dress and a flower crown. Different to “usual ghosts” you can see them at any time of the daynight but I am not sure if that would be a pleasant encounter :XD: As you might guessed, the favourite occupation of any Mavka is to drown men ;-P
There are many stories about those creatures we enjoyed reading as my cousin and I were children, they were the source of inspiration for this stock series. It would be better if we had a rainy day but month May is usually very windy and sunny so we had to search for shadow places to shoot pictured. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and my best used bridal dress had to suffer a lot… :lmao:
Hope you enjoy the series and happy creating!
